Supplying medical training to the Chinese market

Researching market opportunities for The ICENI Centre, enabling them to sell specialist training.
ICENI Centre ColchesterEssex International has been working with The ICENI Centre enabling them to export their training services to the Chinese market.
Earlier this year a delegation of six Chinese officials visited Colchester General Hospital to sign an agreement, facilitated by Essex International (EI), to receive medical training from the ICENI Centre.

Researching the Chinese market

The ICENI Centre approached EI looking to export their services to China. EI were able to research the Chinese market, introduce them to prospective clients and broker a business deal enabling ICENI to sell their specialist medical training in Jiangsu Province, the region of China with which Essex International has deep historical connections.

Training agreement between ICENI Centre & Changzhou First People's Hospital

In 2015 a training agreement was finalised. The Chinese delegates who visited Colchester General Hospital to sign the agreement included two surgeons from the Changzhou First People’s Hospital, in Jiangsu Province. The agreement will see the Changzhou First People’s Hospital receiving specialist medical training from the ICENI Centre.

Working with Essex International

The latest meeting was a reciprocal one between the two hospitals. Representatives from the ICENI Centre previously visited Jiangsu Province. The visits are facilitated by Essex International as part of an ongoing relationship it has with the Chinese province.

“I first visited Jiangsu province in 2008 as part of a trade mission co-ordinated by Essex International.
Since then, surgeons from China have visited Colchester General Hospital.
I went to the Changzhou First People’s Hospital earlier this year and I am really confident we can both learn a lot from each other.”
Tan Arulampan, Clinical Director of the ICENI Centre

Ongoing links between Essex & China in the medical community

Visiting GP's from WuxiEssex International has set up a programme of visits between The ICENI Centre and the Changzhou First People’s Hospital. This began in September with doctors from the Changzhou First People’s Hospital visiting the ICENI Centre for initial three month laparoscopy training as well as learning new skills and management systems they can adopt in their own hospital.

How Essex International helps organisations
